BRICKYARD ALPACAS

CATWICK between Beverley & Hornsea

ALPACA TREKKING & SEASONAL FUN ACTIVITIES

Welcome to Brickyard Alpacas! We are a small business offering the opportunity to meet & take a walk with our 4 young male alpacas on our 5 acre smallholding. Our trek takes you around the peaceful surroundings of Brickyard Farm giving you the chance to get up close & personal with these lovely animals at a very leisurely pace. This is suitable for adults as well as children aged 7 & above. For younger children or those who are complete beginners & maybe a little nervous, why not book a mini trek which takes place in a much smaller enclosed area & offers lots of photo opportunities as well as fun feeding the alpacas & a gentle walk with them. Also available is one of our popular treasure hunts with the alpacas, suitable for all ages aged 3 upwards. There is never a dull moment here on the farm!

MEET THE BOYS

MOOSE

Moose is the largest alpaca. A lovely rich brown young male born in May 2022. He is a very good walker & likes to be at the front of the trek with his friends behind him. Although the tallest he is not the bravest & cries when it is shearing time! He likes to get on with the task in hand & prefers to be chatted to than touched.

SCOUT

Scout is the friendliest alpaca ever. He is inquisitive & likes to sniff his visitors in a gentle manner. He is sometimes cheeky & might stop for a little snack en-route. He is sociable & has a lovely temperament. He was born in June 2022. He is happy following behind Moose.

FINN

Finn is another good trekker & a lovely fawn brown colour. His name is short for “Finnger of Fudge”. Born in July 2022, he likes to take his place near the back of the herd and takes it all in his stride. Finn was one of the smallest alpacas when he arrived but he has since grown to be as big as his brothers.

INCA

Inca is a rich dark velvet brown colour with white socks and a matching chin. Born in July 2022, he is the smallest and also the most vocal of the herd. Inca can be known to be a little bit cheeky and has been caught nibbling his lead rope lots of times! He can usually be found trotting alongside his brother Finn.

RULES & REGULATIONS

Please wear suitable footwear as the land can be uneven in places & gets slippery in wet weather. Sorry no dogs allowed as the alpacas will not feel comfortable around a strange pet. Visitors wanting to bring either a wheelchair or a pushchair are advised to opt for the mini trek including a meet & greet session as this takes place on more suitable ground than a longer trek over the fields.
